PB Devotion
This year, Pentecost Sunday falls on June 8th and the Jewish feast of Shavuot (Feast of Weeks) was from June 1st to June 3rd.
These divine appointments carry immense spiritual meaning. Shavuot commemorates God giving of the Torah to Moses at Mount Sinai, and Pentecost marks the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. Together, they reveal a powerful truth:
God speaks, and God moves!
He is the Word and the Fire!
So many don’t understand the Holy Spirit. He is not a mysterious force; He is God! He walks with you. He speaks to you. He dwells within you. The same Spirit that hovered over the waters of creation, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead—He is with you now!
When the disciples gathered in the upper room 2,000 plus years ago, Heaven invaded Earth. In a moment of unity and expectation, the Church was birthed with power.
The same God who gave the Torah on Mount Sinai and poured out the Spirit in Jerusalem is still doing it. The Word and the Wind. The Law and the Fire. The Foundation and the Power. God’s Spirit is on the move.
In both Old and New Testaments, Shavuot and Pentecost were marked by giving. This wasn’t about obligation. It was about obedience and honor to the Word of God. These feast end the First fruit season.
Pentecost is more than a command to honor God. It is an invitation to experience a fresh move of God. A divine encounter. A personal outpouring. This is not about looking back; this is about moving forward. It’s about entering a new season with spiritual expectation. Pentecost is God’s appointed time for your harvest, your revelation, and your release of what has been sown.
